Clinton Gormley was the first Elasticsearch user and wrote the Perl API back in 2010. He co-authored Elasticsearch: The Definitive Guide and was the Elasticsearch Team Lead for four years before becoming the Elastic Stack Team Lead. He studied medicine at UCT in Cape Town and now lives in Barcelona.
