Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes is now a Red Hat OpenShift Certified Operator
We are delighted to announce that Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK), the official Elastic Operator, is now a Red Hat OpenShift Certified Operator. The operator helps make it easier to deploy and automate Elasticsearch, Kibana, APM Server, Beats, and Enterprise Search in your OpenShift environment.
Built on the Kubernetes Operator framework, the Elastic Operator simplifies many day 2 operations — such as scaling, upgrades, and configuration management — when managing one or more deployments of Elasticsearch, Kibana, APM Server, Beats, and Elastic Enterprise Search on Kubernetes.
These simplified operations let you focus on your business requirements and reduce time to value from the Elastic Stack. ECK is the only operator that gives you access to exclusive free and paid features available from Elastic.
The Basic tier is our “forever-free plan.” You get everything in open source plus:
- Core Elastic Stack security features
- Capabilities such as Elastic APM, Security, App Search, Workplace Search, and Maps
- Canvas and Lens
- Kibana alerting and in-stack actions3
- Cold tier
- And more...
As the creators of Elastic Stack, we want Elastic Cloud to be the best way for you to use our products without the operational overhead of managing them yourself. We also want to meet you where you are on the platforms you prefer.
As a Red Hat OpenShift Certified Operator, Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes is scanned for security risks by Red Hat to meet their certification requirements. This is especially useful in cases where your organization might mandate using only certified operators.
“Now that Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes is a Red Hat OpenShift Certified Operator, it’s available in the OpenShift OperatorHub for all users of OpenShift. Red Hat OpenShift is the industry’s leading enterprise Kubernetes platform and Elastic is a search company built on a free and open heritage. Together, we enable our users to more flexibly build and deploy technologies organizations need to fuel future innovations.”
- Julio Tapia, global director, Cloud Partner Ecosystems, Red Hat
