Request
editDELETE /<index>
Prerequisites
edit-
If the Elasticsearch security features are enabled, you must have the
delete_indexormanageindex privilege for the target index.
Path parameters
edit-
<index> -
(Required, string) Comma-separated list of indices to delete. You cannot specify index aliases.
To delete all indices, use
_allor*. To disallow the deletion of indices with_allor wildcard expressions, change theaction.destructive_requires_namecluster setting totrue. You can update this setting in theelasticsearch.ymlfile or using the cluster update settings API.You cannot delete the current write index of a data stream. To delete the index, you must roll over the data stream so a new write index is created. You can then use the delete index API to delete the previous write index.
